European Conference on epilepsy in Berlin and Ambassador summit in Bruxelles
Location:
berlin to brussels
Date:
09/28/2008
The mad dash started when I crossed the finish line in Lyon...I hailed a cab, went up to the auberge where we had stayed, showered, got in another cab and went to some friend's house who lived near the airport. They dropped me off and I was on my way to Berlin via two planes one of which would temporarily lose my luggage. par for the course.
I made it to Berlin quite late but just in time to meet the other speakers for dinner at the parliament. On the roof we could see the lights of Berlin but it was raining so we didnt stay on the rooftop too long and I couldnt get any good shots.
Berlin is one third water with loads of rivers and lakes and another third forests and parks making it ideal for mountain biking and running. Unfortunately it really rained hard for the first three days so I didnt get out much....as fate would have it I was really really sore from my run anyway. I gave two presentations in Berlin. one at a press conference and another a session we call 'Meet the Expert' where i spoke to neurologists. An important lesson for neurologists to learn, if they listen to their patients they too can learn!
Photos will come later! what can i say about Berlin? Great beer, great shopping, some really cool neighborhoods!!
From Berlin I was on to Brussels to meet the rest of the ambassador group where we would share two very full days of work together and welcome new ambassadors from Italy and Spain. photos to come later....
The ten days have been over packed for me, arrived home late last night and I am shattered. Dont want to see a suitcase, airplane or train for the next few weeks atleast!
